Citrix Receiver for HTML 進入 2.0 時代Receiver for HTML5 2.0 Now Supported on Mobile and Tablet!
Citrix Receiver for HTML5 is the clientless access mode, which is centrally installed on StoreFront and accessed from any device, without installing it locally. This makes it a zero maintenance solution that is easy to standardize the experience and onboard the new users, especially the contractors and new employees.
Receiver for HTML5 SDK allows admins and ISVs to host it on any web server and also do integration, aggregation with their web applications, enabling the use cases like delivering apps as a service. Citrix secure browser is a great example of this.
Citrix has been focused on delivering Receiver for HTML5 for browsers on desktop platforms like Windows, Linux, Mac and Chrome OS. This release makes it available, not just on desktops, but on all devices.
Yes, with Receiver for HTML5 2.0, you can access XenApp and XenDesktop from any browser on any device!
Windows 10 Continuum.
Receiver for HTML5 supports the new Continuum feature in Windows 10.Now, you can run Receiver for HTML5 on the Edge browser, which enables Continuum.
Receiver for HTML5 gives the mobile experience for remote apps on the Windows 10 phone, and when you dock the phone with a monitor attached, it makes your phone work like a thin client and applications work fine on a big display. This release evolved this use case further to give the delightful experience both when used on the phone and docked as a thin client.
Amazing, right?! Let’s learn how it is made possible in this release:
Touch-enabled Receiver.
This release adds support for mobile gestures and multi-touch. Now, you can pinch and zoom, scroll, pan, right click, etc. using fingers on a remote windows app giving local-like experience. When multi-touch is enabled, the gestures are sent to the server and the remote application works like it is local, like zooming on the remote maps, images, word document, and so on.
The mobility support pops up the local keyboard when typing from the touch-enabled device and enables other local actions for the remote application.
The detailed information on the experience of Receiver for HTML5 on touch-enabled devices is available in this blog post from Shruthi.
The New Toolbar.
The in-session toolbar is redesigned, giving a modern, delightful user experience. It doesn’t block any of the work area and can be easily expanded and contracted when used. In addition, you can move and attach the toolbar to any edge of the window as per the user preference. The new toolbar is touch-enabled and adjusts dynamically, based on the form factor of the device. The toolbar also has the ‘preference’ option and options to select the different session resolution. It also allows users to go full screen by click of a button. Learn more about the new toolbar from this blog post from Sai.
Client-side app switcher.
The session launched using Receiver for HTML5 opens apps in the same window and needs the app switcher to switch between apps. In previous releases, this app switcher was built on the server side, but now the new client-side app switcher is available built-in as part of the Receiver for HTML5.
This saves valuable resources on the server side, enhancing the scalability of the XenApp server. The App switcher is designed for all form factors and dynamic—in terms of user experience—depending on the device. Learn more about the client-side app switcher in this blog post from Suhas.
The Citrix PDF Printer is updated to support the Windows 10 virtual desktop for local printing from the Receiver for HTML5 for the files inside the XenApp and XenDesktop session.
This release has so much that it is better to try it yourself and discover the delight first-hand. Transform the end-user experience of your organization with Receiver for HTML5 2.0 and let us know how it works for you!
